I would definitely go and I'd be willing to bring snacks and stuff. However, I'm currently job searching and waiting for winter to stop screwing up the roads. Once both of those issues are removed I should be able to travel around a bit.

This idea is probably not going to happen til la while. I been to tons of meets but never planned one so this needs some collaborative effort.

I did volunteer coordination for Furlaxation. It's hard when you don't know many people, but if you get the word out there you'd be surprised how many people will show up to help.

I've been to a few meets that took place in people's houses. I understand that not many people have actual houses, but if you have a decent sized space, it can hold a great party and is more private than, say, a furbowl meet. I've not been in the area long so I'm not sure about public venues.

I see. I dont think its very wise to hold a monthly meet inside a house.i think ill scan the area for some good locations.

Sounds like fun! I'm one of those college kids that doesn't have a driver's license, so making them would not be very easy, but I'd love to turn up!

Carpooling is encouraged in furmeets. Maybe you can find a friend to help you out there!

For indoor meets i might think a restaurant meet would be fantastic but. I don't like scheduling meets that involve spending of a lot of money.

How about a park (obviously not in the winter months)? It could be like a cookout/pick-nick where everyone brings food.

Parks are the perfect areas! All we need is a location!

A good location might be Cascade Park near EMMC.

I would say any decent park with either a shelter or shelter house. (Shelter houses may cost a bit more money to reserve.)

Here is what I could find: http://www.bangorparksandrec.com/info/facilities/details.aspx?FacilityID=8695 It is the only park in the area listed with a shelter. Seeing as fursuiters may show up, a shelter would be good in case of rain.

I believe the picnic shelter there is literally a roof on 2x4s over a single picnic table. You'd still get wet if it rained.

Restaurants? Most of downtown is shockingly liberal and tolerant of weird stuff. Cascade Park is nice if you ignore the used needles and the homeless haha.
